It’s pumpkin season and you know what that means: jack-o’-lanterns! One of my favorite childhood memories is carving pumpkins into a spooky, funny, or adorable jack-o’-lantern. Creativity in the classroom is very important to me. I try to make each lesson and craft as engaging as possible and allow my students to create their own masterpieces. Today I am blogging over on the Ellison Blog! I am excited to share with you an adorable pumpkin craft that is sure to get your students excited about Halloween and allow them to create their own works of art – minus the ooey gooey mess! I am also excited to share how you can use this adorable pumpkin die to create a fun teacher gift.

Trick-or-Treat! Halloween is right around the corner and you know what that means – Halloween decorations, tasty treats, and creepy costumes! As Halloween approaches you know I’m getting ready to decorate my classroom and make it that much more special for my students!
Last month, an amazing friend of mine, Laura Kelly, sent us a package full of crafting supplies. I used some of those supplies along with my Silhouette Cameo to create some fun, festive, and spooky Halloween popcorn containers to hold some of my favorite Halloween tasty treats! I love choosing which treats to have, and this year I’ve gone for a mix of popcorn, chocolate and sweets so that there is something for everyone to enjoy no matter what their favourites are. It’s easy to find Wholesale Sweets but I had to search high and low for the popcorn! Luckily, I got there in the end.
Before decorating my popcorn boxes, I painted each box with all purpose acrylic black craft paint. I painted each popcorn box with two coats of paint and allowed them to dry between each coat. The original popcorn box lines are not noticeable either!
I purchased a number of designs from Silhouette’s Design Store. Their design stores has thousands of inexpensive designs that are absolutely amazing! Simply search what you’re looking for, choose your design, checkout, upload your purchased design into the Silhouette software, and cut – It’s really that easy! If you haven’t purchased a Silhouette machine, be sure to check them out on Silhouette’s website or on Amazon. They are a must have for any teacher – the possibilities are endless!

Treat Yourself With Some Tasty Treats!
What is the one thing that everyone (even adults) look forward to about Halloween? The candy and tasty treats of course! I filled my popcorn buckets with some of my favorite treats: candy corn, popcorn, and Halloween candy bark! I’m definitely most excited about the Halloween candy bark that I found from Just A Taste Blog. Here’s what you will need to make this delicious treat:
My absolutely favorite part of this treat is adding the Wilton Candy Eyeballs. However, they were very difficult to find at my local supermarket. I resorted to finding them on Amazon. You can find them here: Wilton Candy Eyeballs
Melt 3 cups of Ghiradelli Bittersweet Chocolate Chips in the microwave or double boiler. If you’re like me and cooking scares you – use the microwave!
Place parchment paper down on a cookie sheet and pour melted chocolate mixture onto parchment paper.
Immediately add desired candy onto the melted mixture.
Place cookie sheet in refrigerator for about an hour.
Take hardened candy bark out of the fridge and cut your bark into small pieces.
Ta Da! Are you drooling yet? Using my Silhouette and the popcorn boxes from World Market made this project simple, fun, and perfect for any Halloween party. This would also make a great teacher gift too! If you’re thinking to yourself you’ll be having to buy loads of candy to make enough treats for everyone, fear not because you’re able to look online for wholesale candy to get most of your favorite treats in bulk at a better price! Get ready to trick or treat properly!
